We understand that accidents beyond your control happen from time to time! While we consider art rental to be extremely low risk, the artist must be protected against the unlikely event that rented art is not returned or damaged. Arrangements are made for this after you have paid for the rental but before the art is transferred to you.
Here is how it works: Non-return We will email a link to a form which will ask for your credit card information, which we will store safely for the duration of the rental. One week from the end of the rental period we will email you to remind you to return the art to us, or to extend the rental period. We will invoice you for the latter. In the event that the art is not returned to us on the due date, and we have been unable to contact you, we will charge your card for an additional rental term equal to the most recent rental term.
Damages We provide 2 options to protect against damages:
Option 1: We authorize your credit card for a minimum of 10% of the total value of the piece(s). We will not charge your card or put a hold on your credit. In the case of damage or loss, we will charge your card for the balance remaining on the piece(s).
Option 2: You opt to remit a damage deposit check at the time you take possession of the art. This refundable damage deposit equals 30% of the total value of the piece(s). We will deposit this check. In the case of either damage or loss, your damage deposit covers your entire liability and thus limits the amount you would ever need to pay. When your rented artwork is returned in good condition, your full deposit is refunded.
